After a trip on a local bus for 5 hours, we ended up in Pune, pronounced, poona. We came here because I thought I might be able to meet up with one of my old BT colleagues.

Once off of the bus, It was impossible to find budget accommodation. In fact, the cheapest we found was double our usual amount. Fuck me it was an expensive town. It is also meant to be the new silicon valley of India after Bangalore. Well, the city did have a slightly different feel, there was a supermarket with Tim Tams, BBQ Shapes and other Aussie products for the Aussies based here. Sadly, there was a huge shopping plaza with new shops and incredibly cheap, genuine products inside them. There were more being built and it seemed that this Pune was losing it's Indian identity.

I never did get to see my old colleague. Oh well, maybe next time
