On route to fujinomiya we met yet another lovely and helpful soul. It turned out we were all going to the same place so had a good chat with him on the train. Turned out he had visited Edinburgh a few times too! ... And Dundee!

When we arrived it was still light so we dropped off our bags and started walking towards Fuji. We walked until it started to get dark and thought we were getting close, on a map turns out an hour and a half walk was under half way :/ still the view was perfect with cloudless blue skies, and with the sun setting with a red sky opposite.

We stopped by a small place on the way back for more okonomiyaki (without noodles this time) then found our way back in the dark.

Today we visited the temple near us, complete with rainbow trout pond and a little stall selling fish food. We stood on the bridge feeding the fish however the local pigeons wanted in too so would quite happily and boldly land on you and try and steal the food out of your hand.

As there is a hot spring nearby we also thought it was worth trying to see if we would be ok to get in. After being told tattoos are ok! By the front desk we both headed in. The ladies were none too happy with me being in there when I got there, after clearing two baths simply by being there I was politely asked to leave :/ Leo on the other hand was fine! Had a lovely time and a very different experience indeed. *note to self for next time - book private hot spring*

After a relaxed afternoon, we found another small homey place for dinner. This time udon noodles, tempura, onigiri for me and udon noodles, teriyaki beef and prawn tempura onigiri for Leo. As we were getting ready to leave the owner arrived with a bag of tempura bits (it has a proper name but I can't remember it) to take home. Yet another example of how sweet and thoughtful people are here.

Tomorrow the last stop on our trip... Back to tokyo! Over and out.
