culture shock in Kolkatta

For 5 days I settled into Kolkatta, trying to regain my wits in the midst of massive culture shock; Kolkatta lived up to its reputation: decaying, dirty, filthy, poor and homeless populating the streets, poluted, and of course, crazy and packed with indians. My baptismal entry into the great land came with the occurance of the 'Holi' holiday, of which I was a victim. So covered by the paint and festivities that by the end of the day, all you could see were my white eyes and teeth under the black tint!
