I woke up to the sound of birds going crazy in the trees above our tent.  They were insane.  We packed up the tent and headed back to civilization.  It was 7:30 by the time we got back to the car about 3km away from our camp.  No rangers caught us so it was a success. 

We drove into Brisbane and found the hostel.  It was my turn to pay so I got the bed this time and Max had to sleep in the car.  Brisbane City Backpackers is the name of the place and its pretty nice.  My room is airconditioned, bed was nice, rooftop pool, and good views of the city.  It was a little weird because I had 2 girls in my room and another guy, but they were all nice. 

My birthday just so happened to fall upon Australia Day (like 4th of July).  We walked through Brisbane and got free flags and watermellon.  Took in some sights and did a little souviener shopping.  I would buy way more than I have but we don't have any room in our car. 

We made it back to the hostel and hung out for a while, drank some wine, listened to some music, talked to other foriegners, and watched the Australia Day fireworks.  My first overseas birthday was pretty fun.  I did get a free T-shirt from the hostel.  Would have been nice to be around some more friends, but overall it was a good birthday.
