On the 8th we packed all our crap and headed back to Lakemba to pick up our car.  Our stuff was so heavy, we had to stop every few minutes to rest.  I was just dripping with sweat by the time we reached the train.  We bought the car for $1450 and payed an extra $60 to fix the air conditioning which is an absolute must.  I was the first of me and max to try driving.  Right off the bat I left the parking break on and drove about a kilometer without figuring it out.  Right turns are horrible as well, but its not that bad.

After about 4 hours of we made it safely to our first Helpx location in Taree, NSW.  Our host family was the Booths, Roger and Lyn and Ben (18) and James (14).  Helpx works by allowing backpackers to work for 4 hours a day at these locations in exchange for accomadation and food.

I had a great time at the Booths, we spent about 3 days there My work outfit

.  Me and max helped to build a veranda outside of a shed of theres.  They taught us a lot about Australian culture.  The food was good, but not quite enough and at weird times.  The food was basically the same as American food.

One of the rainy days we went to Ellenbourgh Falls, which is supposedly the second longest drop of waterfalls in the southern hemisphere.  We walked all the way to the bottom and got drenched by the mist.  Another day I took James' motorbike out and nearly killed myself.  Lynn washed all our clothes and I left my passport in the pocket so now it looks like its 85 years old, but its still functional.  Overall I had a good time there.
