Whew, we're finally here, about 21 hours since we left home! I am blessed (or cursed) with the ability to nap wherever and however, so I fared somewhat better getting some sleep on the long flight to Paris than Dave. Nevertheless, I am glad to be safely out of that flying metal tube. My DH has such a wry way with words, and he has already written a humorous account of our (mis)adventures getting here, so I won't go into any details. Just read his blog at www.narunatexas.blogspot.com I do want to mention that Air France puts American Airlines to shame, shame, shame when it comes to pleasing the customer.
So, we've managed to get on the vaporetto from the airport, and we're chugging across the lagoon towards Venice, and I'm craning my neck trying to see the skyline of ancient church domes and whatnot... what's that? Cell towers and smokestacks? Geez Louise, I could be off the coast of Texas around Baytown or La Porte. Then Dave points out the direction that I need to be looking, and there it is. Venice!!
