Well, I have finally seen the Petronas Towers! They are very lovely looking indeed. We have not gone up them yet, as we are saving that for our next time in KL (at the end of our trip). We also have been doing a bit of sightseeing about the city centre area - just walking around mostly. Have managed to hit a few of the shopping malls to either escape the heat or the rain - both of which we get every day.

KL is a very modern city, and one that would be really nice to visit on holiday. However, its a bit expensive for us (as is all of Malaysia!) on our budget for this trip. Still, we did treat ourselves to Lebanese food two evenings which was fantastic. (Although, Joseph's and Shaddy's are better!) Even had some Baklava for dessert which was divine!

We poked about in one of the electronics malls as well, and I was interested to discover that neither Bangkok or KL are cheaper than the UK for laptops, cameras, Ipods, etc. I always assumed that they would be. In fact, some of the cameras here are really old - Laura - one shop was still trying to sell those horrible old Fuji E500's - remember them?!

I did however come across two knitting/craft shops and was like a kid in a candy store. I've been itching for something to do for ages so bought a crochet hook and a couple of cheap balls of yarn. YEAH! The skies even cooperated and rained that afternoon so I didn't feel guilty about hanging out in the hostel crocheting. (I made a cupcake.)

I am getting really excited about our trip to Borneo - somewhere I've always wanted to go. But I'm not really sure what to expect - Peninsular Malaysia is very modern, I wonder if it will be as well? I sort of hope not in a way......

Lots of love,
K & M
