HO HO HO - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
We arrived yesterday afternoon in Phu Quoc and its pretty idyllic here. We had a little bit of a problem with the hotel but its all sorted now. I expect it was all my fault as I tempted Fate a bit too much when I was bragging to all the gang at work that while they were completely going crazy at the shop, I would be lazing about in paradise. The weather is very paradise like, and tomorrow we are both going to have massages right on the beach, and I might treat myself to a pedicure and manicure as well. Tough life huh?!? We have just rolled away from a huge feast of steamed snapper and grilled scallops. Its very hard to figure out how much food you will get when you order by price - but in this case, I thought that for 40,000 (about $2.50US) I would get maybe 5 - 6 grilled scallops. I got 30. Oops - thank goodness Malcolm was there to help me out!!!
Phu Quoc is actually really expensive in comparison to the rest of Vietnam, but, like anywhere, if you look about for where the locals eat then you will get some really nice meals at reasonable prices. Like tonight for example - everything came to a total of just about $10US. Whereas the local hotels and tourist restaurants are doing BBQ's from $15 - $35US per person (drinks not included). Damn the holiday tourists for making it tough on us cheapo backpackers!
Anyway - we are attaching a little video (we hope) to wish you all Merry Christmas in person. There is a bit of a problem in phoning, as we don't seem to have the facilities here, so we are sorry and will try to call you all before the New Year when we get back to the mainland. In the meantime, we hope Santa finds you all and brings you more than a lump of coal.
All our love to you and yours,
K & M

Merry Christmas
Karyn/Malcolm:
Short video, could have been a bit longer. You do have synchronized waves. Have a very happy Christmas on the beach and spoil yourselves for the day.

Christmas Eve
We have been to church and we are now off to Wilma and Harold's to open pressies and eat, eat ,did I mention eat? I'll be cooking turkey in the morning. Mary is joining us for Din Din. Enjoy that massage. I wouldn't mind one myself.
Merry Christmas, Momma & John
