Arrived yesterday on another little bus from Buon Ma Thuot. Dalat is much much prettier than I anticipated, and we have arrived at a perfect time. The International Flower Festival starts tomorrow, so the town is really buzzing. Sadly, it means that the accommodation is really limited and we are paying way over the odds, but never mind.
Today we walked to the Crazy House - does just what it says on the tin. Designed by Ms. Nga (daughter of the former President) it is a crazy kaleidoscope of nuttyness. Part Gaudi, part bad dream, its a very unusual place to visit (or stay at if you wish). Then this afternoon we went on the Cap Treo cable car, which gives beautiful views of the city and surrounding countryside.
Tomorrow we have dedicated to checking out the Festival, and then Lord help me, I have let Malcolm talk me into riding mountain bikes south to Mui Ne. Which just happens to be 120kms away. Ha Ha Ha. My only saving grace is, there will be a van following us, and I can catch a ride whenever I need to. I think that the driver and I will be old friends by the end of the trip!
All our love,
K & M
