I'm in Cardiff, Wales, now at the library (free Internet!). I went and saw the castle and was going to view the national gallery, but it's closed today.

Cardiff Castle

I spent the weekend in Manchester at Jayne's. It was nice to stay somewhere besides a hostel for a couple nights. I went out with her and her fiancee, Paul, to the "local" [pub] Friday night for a few drinks. It was mostly an older crowd there. Saturday Jayne and I went to a museum (the Lowry), found me some new shoes and wandered around the city. Her friend, Ant[hony], met us later that afternoon and we had a couple drinks in the lively downtown area. Paul met us soon after and we went to a pub downtown that brews their own organic beer. The beer was good, but seemed to fill me up after a couple. There was mostly an older crowd at this pub too.

We left there, picked up some chips (french fries) and went back to the local. Again Saturday the crowd was much, much older. Jayne must have been trying to find me a sugar mama in her later years. There was a lady singing (very poorly) to music...kind of karaoke style...it was torture.

that's the singer behind me. Jayne coaxed her over...thanks.

I did get to go back to the house and watch "TV Burp" though.

Yesterday I saw Stratford-upon-Avon. There weren't any plays going on Sunday, but wasn't a big deal 'cuz Macbeth is currently running and I already saw that in that city. I just wandered and saw the sites.

Tomorrow I'm off to Bath and will explore the area around there too (Stonehenge, Avebury).
