I figured I'd stay another night in the Lake Louise area since there was still a lot to see.
In the morning I drove to Moraine Lake and was rewarded with some lovely views and reflections of the lake. From there I hiked to Consolation Lake. There are warning about bears in the area so I was wearing my "bear bells". They're little bells you wear on your ankle or wrist to tell bears dinner is on it's way. At Consolation Lake bit of the glacier above the far end of the lake wear breaking off and tumbling down causing a thunderous noise.

Back to Lake Louise where I went on a STEEP hike to Mirror Lake. I don't know what it is with these Canadians and their steep trails. There were quite a few old folks struggling their way up at the beginning of the trail. Somehow I doubt they'll make it. I zipped past most everyone and made it to Mirror Lake. Lake Agnes was just a bit further up so I continued on and saw that one too.

Went through town to pick up some postcards and had some ice cream while there. I drove to Kootenay Nat'l Park to see Marble Canyon and the Paint Pots. Marble Canyon was pretty and the water had a creamy, milky look to it. I dipped my foot in and it was ice cold (shockingly cold). The Paint Pots were kinda lame - just an area with extra iron in the soil so it's kinda orangey. On to Johnston Canyon for a short hike to see the upper and lower falls.

I considered going to the Lake Louise hostel for drinks this evening, but just went back to the campsite for dinner.
