Today is a layup day,  it didn't start out that way but after a couple hours of steady rain it ended up that way.

After the night in Creston BC on the 15th I started up Kootenay Lake on a wonderful motorcycle road full of twisties but no traffic.  A free BC ferry and I was on the west shore of the lake then up and over a pass and down to Arrow Lake and more of the same.  A unique town call New Denver that was home to a Japanese internment camp during WWII.  The Canadians copied another of our bad ideas but at least they gave the internees houses!  Nice temperatures, overcast and a few light showers.  Spent the night in Revelstoke, BC.

Day six.  East out of Revelstoke through Glacier NP, over Rogers Pass and down to Golden.  The scenery is getting spectacular.  It's decision time.  I really want to SEE the Icefields Parkway and tomorrow the weather is supposed to get very rainy.  I decide to bag going to Radium Hot Springs and Banff (town) infaver of doing the Parkway today in good weather but with a long day.  See the attached pictures, it was worth it.  Cool, a few showers early then scattered clouds and sun later.  Pulled into Jasper at about 8:00PM local to find it's a town in a National Park with everything being a concession....there were no cheap motels just varying degrees of expensive.

Day seven.  Woke up to mostl clear skies and decided to hit the road toward Prince George.  Exit Banff National Park and immediatly enter Mt Robson Provincial Park.  Ceilings start lowering, it starts raining and after two hours it's still raining.  Its time for a layover day and that's how I wound up in McBride BC, a beautiful little town with a very friendly motel operator.

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be better and it's on to Prince George and points west on the way to the ferry terminal in Prince Rupert by Sunday
