Another gorgeous morning to wake up to. We could see sun and hear birds so that made it good enough for us. A quick breakfast and packup and we were on our way. We continued our exploration of the cove and thought it had potential but was still a bit sparse. The road to Adelaide was winding and scenic as it snaked along the coast Northwards. Normanville looked like a nice little town which could provide us with some nice coffee so we checked out the town, the GPS was showing a beach nearby which we drove to and sure enough, there was a nice little cafe right on the beach. We sat down and had coffees and enjoyed the view.

After this we were off again, past Carickalinga, Myponga, Willunga, Aldinga and Noarlunga we were starting to see the outskirts of a city. At first it felt alien and we were apprehensive, but after we psyched ourselves with Adelaide's offerings we were ok. We wanted to find a caravan park, find a quiet spot, set up and then go for a bike ride around Adelaide so we queued up six caravan parks close to the city and checked them out. It took ages and some were packed like sardines which isn't our style. Each one was a little bit further from the city so we were getting nervous when we inspected one 7km from the city.

It was called Brown Hill Creek and it looked damn nice, it was on a creek which wound it's way up into a rainforest gully. During our investigative drive-by we saw a nice spot that would have been ideal for us and we hoped no-one would nick it. We almost decided to stay on the spot but we had an inkling that there something better so we headed up into the Mt Lofty ranges to look at another one but by this stage we were getting hungry, I was busting for a pee and the whole process was taking longer than we expected. The caravan park didn't quite look as nice as the creek and it was too far up into the hills to make cycling easy making it a bad decision. We dropped into a cafe for a late lunch but we missed the kitchen only adding to our despair.

It was decided that we would go directly back to Brown Hill Creek.

When we got there the owners were really nice and we were able to get that spot by the creek which we had spotted earlier. The nearest van was about 20m away and it was empty which was lucky as it created privacy. The feeling of being in the bush was amazing considering we were only 7km from the Adelaide CBD. After setting up and putting on some warmer clothes we headed to the office to find out about food nearby. When they mentioned that there was a pub we were sold. The walk to the pub was most enjoyable. The area seemed to be one of the better ones. Once we were out of Brown Hill Creek we were in Mitcham. The Edinburgh Hotel (‎) appeared soon enough and we headed in.

The front section of the pub was nice and old and historic-n-that but the dining room was in a newer section at the rear. I went and got us a table while Julie got drinks. After checking the menu I knew I had to have my favourite - chicken schnitzel with chips and salad - yummo! Julie got the Greek salad. Both were a good size but we were starving so we also got the super rich looking cheesecake to take back for dessert later. It was another nice walk back but it was quite cool, it got better as we warmed up along the walk. We got back and set up our entertainment, sure enough we had all the channels and internet signal that you'd expect in a city.

The showers were hot and the shower block was dead quiet, no-one came in while I was in the shower. I was a bit shocked at first when I saw a warning label on the ceiling, upon closer inspection I saw that it was an asbestos warning! Holy cow! It made me shower pretty darn quick. When I told Julie she said she had the same. Talk about dodgy! Anyway we had a peaceful night in our private bit of rainforest with the trickle of the creek only metres away.
