Hi all,

Again to address the first things first:

Don Bolen, thank you so much for letting me know you are safe and glad to hear you are on your way home.  I am checking my email every day through the MyTelus website so please send me an email note when you get home so I know you made it home safely.  I miss you soooo much!!!!!!!!!

Bill: Dianne gets your emails sent to Laurie's email.  Glad you are having a wonderful time hiking.  So glad the weather has turned nice for you. The hike's sound really nice.  Love you!!

DonV: So good to hear from you.  Sorry I missed you again on the phone but glad I left a nice message.  Good that you saw Greg and took him out and how cute that you took mom to the penny auction - did she win anything?  Thanks again Sandra, Norma and Lynne for your great comments.  Miss all of you. Big hugs to all!

Stephanie: Those "blue buttons" are stickers identifying us as as part of a specific tour.  It was good to hear your voice too.  Don't worry we are attmepting to be safe at all times.  In actuality we really do feel safe here.  In preparation for convocation, don't forget to find a nice outfit.  Dad will pay for it.  Love you lots and lots.

Robin: So good to hear from you honey.  PS, tell Jay Becky is getting impatient!!! XOXOXOXOXO

Sandy DeLuca: That Canolli Becky was eating was for you!!!

Mom: Yes, we are getting you something from Italy.  Actually 2 things for you. Glad to hear you have returned to enjoying your activities.  We heard about the penny auction, hope you didn't spend your money in all one place.  Did you win anything?  Don't forget to drink lots of fluids.  Love from all your daughters.

It has been hotter than hades here (29 today, feels like 40).  We returned from Venice and spent the next day or so regrouping, doing laundry, catching up on sleep, resting our feet, grocery shopping, and playing lots of cards  (a Rummy card game called Phase 10).  We sure got to call each other every name in the book, all in the name of fun :)

On Saturday we visited the Baptistry of the Duomo. It is from the middle of the 11th century.  There are wonderful mosaics.  The gold glitters in the sun.  The mosaics on the ceiling reveal the Byzantine influence.  After the Baptistry we headed to the Museo Nationale del Bargello. We wanted to see Donatello's David which looked like a miniature version of the 3 muskateers, totally unlike Michaelangelo's version.  There was a wooden Corpus (crucifix of Jesus without the cross) by Michaelangelo.  It was a huge museum, mostly sculptures.  One of favorites was Winged Mercury by Giambologna which was really beautiful.  We went to a little cafe and had lunch (costa lotta).

When we were rested, we went to see the Gucci museum.  For a few minutes we could pretend we were wealthy.  We were greeted at the door by men in expensive suits and given black and gold passports to enter the hallowed domain.  Who knew that a busboy could arise to such levels (G.Gucci was that busboy).  In the gift store there was an unfinished scarf for E350 which was originally designed for Princess Grace.  We bought 4 - NOT!

We are resting up today for our 3 day trip to Luca (a small walled town) and Pisa so, we won't be in touch until Saturday (Sept, 22).  Not to worry we are doing really well and getting around like the natives.  We love and miss you all big time and love to hear from you when we come to blog.

Dianne, Karen, Becky, Laurie (The Four Sorelle)

...another great update...enjoying the 2 saved voice messages but, sad that I missed chatting with you. GG'ma will enjoy this blog, too..she won a 'vanity' makeup mirror for 16 cents. Karen can likely access our yahoo email at the internet cafe....check the September file..still not comfortable with the individual outings. ...enoy your next adventure.

What a great summary of your activities----complete with spelling that looks correct!!! The pictures really enhance the blog---very well done!

Didn't know that you had a phone connection that worked to NA. I have been calling people via Skype in Canada and England.

Just completed an 18km walk today. I am hiking in the Bath area tomorrow.

Return home this Saturday.

Cheers and Best Wishes to all!

Hey- wow- what great few days you've all had and I'm happy to hear you're taking some down time too. Hockey has started full swing, so we're having some later nights. It's just all about school these days... loving my class and really bonding nicely with them! The parents are keeping their distance (for now) so that is a pleasure!! The kids are 'all thumbs up' by the end of the day, so that's great (and far exceeds the thumbs down and mouth noises Noah made about starting school). Nathan talks about school or recess games from the moment he wakes up to the minute he gets into bed- quite hilarious. Mom- Noah has graduated from the 'program' officially without the alarm... more than 2 weeks. Our new system arrives in a few weeks for Nate. Enjoy your next destination, xoxo

I only have one question - is there any Gelato left in Italy? We saw mom on Saturday and again on Sunday. She was in really good spirits on Saturday and was a bit tired on Sunday morning. Although she did say they woke her up at 6 a.m. to give her a bath. It was such a beautiful sunny day on Sunday that Kev took her out of Longworth and pushed her in her wheelchair for about an hour all through the houses in and around Longworth. We read her all the blog's so she is fully up to date on your travels. xoxo Sue and Kev.

Greetings Girls: Glad to hear you all are enjoying the voyage and the explorations. Glad to hear too that my spouse Rebecca is taking time to just bide. That is a must do. I am sure you women too are getting to know Firenze quite well. All is well here, I finally finished and submitted my swim report and feel freed. Now I Giovanni will focus on the St. George Garage sale and go through my boxes and get rid of some stuff. Weather has cooled off and raining now for two day. Glad to hear Don assisted Mom with the penny auction. Good stuff. Enjoy the sun and heat cause when you get back it will be cool. Take care. John

Dianne, Jim and I are SO enjoying your blogs and pictures! It looks like you are having a marvelous time (like - when don't you?)! Somehow you are managing to make 30 degree heat and 10 hours a day on your feet sound glamorous! Please give our warmest greetings to your sisters, what an exceptional bonding experience this is!
Keep having fun, and do it all! You might not have another chance!

Greetings from the great city of London. The weather has turned cooler (unlike your weather!) and I'm rather enjoying wearing pants and long sleeves. The back to school bbq is this on the 20th, provided the weather cooperates. I'll be headed to the garage sale at church this sat. and will be dropping items off on the Friday before. Keep soaking in all the wonderful memories you're acquiring this trip...
