Where I stayed
TH parking lot
It's almost dark. I'm almost out of gas, and I have 50 odd miles to drive before I hit Page, Az. Yup! Pushin' my luck.
Well, I managed to hold out the whole time I was in Utah. I just kept saying, "NO"! You don't need that shit girl! So, I outright denied my need. Ignored the call. Turned the other cheek and walked away...but, this was my last tour in Utah, and I just couldn't bring myself to leave it without stealing a few succulent pieces of its soul. So, caving into overwhelming desire, I started shovelling dirt into, at first, small plastic baggies...But, in no time, control gave way to outright greed, and soon I was stuffing large ziplock bags full of wonderous and subtle colors stolen right from the soul of Utah's Grand Staircase. I was in heaven. I had more fun chasing my eyes across the landscape than I have had on many of my hikes. But, when all was said and done, and all color crevasses explored and scooped, I was left with a vast array of colorful, but, HEAVY, baggies. What's a girl to do??? Seriously though, I can barely slide the box across my van floor. Sigh. Poor Tommy. But, I can't bring myself to thin out my stash. Nope. No way. No how.
