Glacier Bay. Today we entered Glacier Bay National Park which comprises 3.3 million acres of mountains, glaciers, forests and waterways. It is huge, it is nature and it is AWESOME! We spent about 6 hours in the park viewing 3 glaciers, a stayed about 1 hour at Margerie Glacier which is over 1 mile wide and 25 stories high (go to www.nps.gov/glba for more info). The glacier calved some icebergs while we were there which was great to see. The sounds the glacier makes is great, we were some distance from the face however you can here the glacier cracking, and when it calves the sound of the ice crashing is like thunder. We had a great day in the bay.

That night for the first time we headed into open sea, even though the swell was slight we felt our cabin moving slowly in every direction, like a rollercoaster on valium that never stopped. It wasn't to bad and I managed to drift of to sleep.
