Welcome to day 4 of our Florida trip. Today we took a coach trip to Kennedy space center. As usual the weather was great, it took just over 90 minutes to get there but that was to join up with another coach and then drop soome people off at an airboat ride. Once at Kennedy we took the coach tour with the first stop at the launch pad viewing platform, this gave us a good view of the launch pads and the Vehicle assembly building or VAB for short. After this the tour takes you to the building where they now house a Saturn 5 Apollo moon rocket. This building also has the control room used for the first launch of Apollo 1. After this the tour takes you the building where they are constructing the last 7 big parts of the International space station to be taken up before the shuttle retires in 2010. Once back at the main visitor center we went on the Shuttle launch attraction which simulates a shuttle launch, this was really good. Then we had some lunch and then watched a 3D Imax film about the moon. Then we visited the gift shop, we then got on the coach and on the way home stopped off at the Astronaut hall of fame museum, before heading home, this only took 45 minutes.
