(Krystal) We woke up this morning still sleepy, because the chairs on the train did not fold down flat so we were not able to stretch out. Therefore we all had our turn on the floor (and it was not very comfortable)! We then arrived in Prague, put our stuff in lockers and headed out but not before getting reservations for the 9pm train out to Krakow, Poland! We got a cappuccino and a chicken burger at a street stand and then found a McDonalds and got three side salads! We then enhanced them with cheese and dried fruit that we had with us, and sat out side on some nice chairs under an umbrella!
Prague is such a nice city! It is one of the few cities in Europe that was not really bombed during World War I & II, letting all the old buildings live! It is one of the Tucker family's favorite cities in Europe!
After eating a lovely breakfast/brunch/lunch we thought it would be nice to go to the theater today since we had a long day here! First, we just walked around nice and slowly and found a park! We sat down and mom read to us on the grass about the history of Prague (while Dad fell asleep on my lap)! We then walked a little way to the Bridge that is in Mission Impossible! On that bridge there were lots of little sellers with their paintings! On the other side of the bridge we found a grocery store and bought some drinks that were very much needed then headed back to a Church that we had seen earlier for free choir performance at 2pm...leaving us only about a haft and hour to get there!
(Val) In the end we didn't go to the performance. We just hung out in the square for a while, listening to a little band and taking in the amazing landscape of old, ornate buildings and a huge memorial to John Huss. We made our way to the cinema to watch the Poseidon. I thought it was quite good and kept you going the entire moving. After the movie, we hiked around a bit more and ended back at McDonalds to have another round of salad to spruce up with olives and smoked cheese we got at the grocery store. The real motive was to get the wireless card available at the McDonalds so we can update the site!
