(Rob) We woke up this morning to a call from Dad letting us know that the girls had safely made it on the plane in Newark. Val and I are flying from Beijing later this morning on a KLM flight nonstop to Amsterdam. Our teenage daughters flew a few hours ago from Detroit to Newark, had a 4.5 hour layover and are currently flying to Amsterdam. They will wait there 8.5 hours when we will arrive and then fly together to Dublin. Val and I are excessively anxious to see the girls since we have not been together as a family for over three months. Krystal and Audrye have been in Michigan taking drivers training and filling in as secretaries at our home church.
We have carefully packed but I fear that my backpack is still to heavy. At 11.5kg it should be a fair bit to lug around for the next 8 weeks. We have tried to limit the amount we are taking but have insisted on bringing enough travel books to meet the needs of the trip. Six books which are all very thick (Let's Go Europe - East and West, Rick Steves - three titles, and a single country guide) definitely bulk out the bag.
Hello Tucker Family... Thanks for sharing the highlights. Ottawa feels far less exciting now.. Ha! Ha! Keep up the adventure and we'll see you again soon. ~ Angela
