back today after 3 killer days of sun and sea on the whitsunday islands.  sunburnt, underslept and hungover would best describe our apperance right now, but i would go back in a second if we had more time here.  it was awesome!

first night was pretty tame, chilled in town all day avoiding the heat and caught the boat in the afternoon.  sailed between hook island (where peter pan and cpt. hook auctually live) and whitsunday island and laid anchor for the night.  had a big dinner and just talked with the group laying on the deck looking at the stars and fell alseep to the motion of the ocean.

next day was dope.  we woke up outside with the sun, had some cereal for breakfast and sailed to whitehaven beach and hiked up to the lookout.  chilled on the beach with alittle swimming and back to the boat for lunch.  sailed to tounge bay and went diving.  it was my first time, so it was awesome just getting used to breathing out of a tank and swimming around.  quick intro with a small group and did some easy fish watching and checked out some of the great barrier reef.  back to the boat for a kick ass dinner, then hit the goon (ozzie cheap shit-wine) real hard till we passed out.  thanks to the snorkel beer bong, things got messy pretty quick.  plus the captain (wazza) donated a box-o-wine to the communal pot where we all dunped in a shit-mix of booze and funneled that too.  pictures are beyond knee-slapping hilarious, to say the least.  everyone really got to know eachother, and everyone laughed when theres nowhere private for fornication with so many people on such a small boat.  motion of the ocean baby!

today was really good too.  everyone was alittle slower than most, to put it lightly, and just relaxed all morning with instant coffee and the best scenery imaginable while the crew toured us around.  then everyone else went snorkeling (or just chilled if they were too hung) and because everyone else is so tight for $$ traveling, i was the only one that signed up for diving.  it was possibly the best experience of my life!!!  it was just me and greg, the instructor, so he took me way past were i should have been without being certified.  we dove deep, through tunnels in the coral that would be suffocating to anyone even slightly clostraphobic.  he took a waterbottle stuffed with bread and we had a massive array of tropical fish swarming around us and eating out of our hands.  sometimes they even nibbled alittle on our sting suits.  chassed a gully into the deep water that had whicked pressure in our ears, and stayed in until our airtanks were in the red.  amazing time, well worth the $50.  cant wait to get certified on magnetic island.  we leave tomorrow morning...
