its been a crazy last few days here, being the christmas season and all. christmas eve cogan and tex drove us out to a lake in lennox head, just south of byron bay, where the roots from the tea leaf trees grow right into the water. it makes the water a translucent brown and looks, smells, and feels like swimming in tea. kindof intimidating at first, but it makes your skin feel awesome! then we made a thai curry dinner on the beach, it was whicked good despite the monsoon that came outta nowhere. good thing they had a canopy and stuff
apparently our christmas eve in canada and australia is auctually christmas in sweden and germany, so there was a huge party that nite. the swedes were rad to party with, they gave us traditional swedish christmas food and we drank hard to some of their national drinking songs. we played a bunch of flip cup until we got kicked out of the hostel (cerfew) and danced on some tables at cheeky monkies until close. that was a late nite, didnt get to bed until about 4 or 5am
yesterday was our christmas, so we started at 1pm with a lamb spit roast with chicken and ham and potatoes and salad. oh, and lots of sangria too... it was whicked hot, prob in the high 30s, so it was a really different christmas for all the canadians. there was live acoustic music/comedy show at the hostel to go with the food and sangria, and the whole place was packed! it was a pretty rip rouring party, probably one of the best ive had. after the hostel shut down we made a fire on the beach. no rain, really cool people, good food, lots of drinks....all in all it was a pretty merry christmas
