We woke up to Georgia making us some healthy and tasty breakfast and coffee (ps, vegemite and avacado on toast is really really good) before we packed up the van to drive to melbourne.  it was really cool because georgia decided to come with us, so we had a local guide to help us out and keep us company

we had to vacuum out the van when we got to melbourne, which was kinda bull, then dropped it off and caught the train into town.  which kinda sucked because i had my surf board and there were lots of people trying to get by all the time.

melbourne is a really cool city, theres lots of different arcitechture and the transit system is really good.  plus its about on par with montreal for sweet bars and live local music, if not better.  we stayed at a particularly dodgy hostel called 'the exford hotel.'  It has a 24hour bar downstairs, that doubles as the reception.  It wasn't quiet, clean, or nice, but id highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates character in a building.

we took the tram to brunswick and checked out a bunch of small shops and stuff.  we stopped for a quick beer at a really trippy place called "bimbos" that has a bunch of baby dolls hanging above some old couches.  one beer turned into about 7 pitchers and a few hours, then we went back and got changed to go out (ie flip flops off and runners on)

sushi for dinner was sub-par, but a few asahi beers made up for it.  then we went to "the lounge" and drank a ton more and played pool and hung out with a chick from the states (Christine) with crazy dread-locks and her cr-asian hairdressing friends.  the rest gets kinda fuzzy
