Happy Holi/St. Patrick's Day!

We started our day with the delicious breakfast at the Devi Bhawan Hotel. Our nice tour guide provides us the white Indian-style shirt and pants to wear today for the Holi festival. We headed to the Jaswant Thada temple (Hinduism) for the royals only. If you look outside you will see the King Bhawan’s home, which is 3rd most beautiful house in the world.

Afterwards, we went to the Mehrangarh Fort. One of the many interesting thing that we learned about the Mehrangarh Fort, the front gate is laced with poison so it will kill elephant when elephant attack the front gate. During that period, people use elephant instead of the cannon. So they have the elephants drink the alcohol so they will be more aggressive.

After the visiting the Mehrangarh Fort, we headed to the Holi Festival! The Holi Festival is the India people’s culture to throw the evilness away. So Indians will throw many colorful powders at each other. We had a blast at the Holi Festival! We were covered in many different colors.

Afterwards, we went back to the hotel to clean ourselves. At 4:30, we rode the jeeps to the pottery village, we watched a talented man making the pottery. We bought few things to give presents to our families and friends.

We head to other small village; the people there called themselves Bishoni. They believed in twenty-nine principles that state that they can’t kill any living-beings or allow somebody to kill living-beings. There, we tried the Holi Festival’s dessert and also we tried the opium. The opium that we tasted is not a drug, it’s a natural plant drink.

After that, we made a short journey through the safari, we saw many cows, yaks, dogs, and one peacock! With that, we headed back to the hotel to eat dinner. After that we went back to our rooms and get ready for long day tomorrow!
