We had another great morning on the beach despite the intensive heat. A lot of the kids came prepared for the waves today, sporting swimming caps and goggles. The excitement of the sea just doesn't grow old with them. It is still amazing to hear their shrieks of excitement as they attempt (often with the help of the SC team) to jump the waves. As the week goes on they have become more brave in their wave endevours. The problem being that the SC team also have to brave the depths as the huge waves crash into these little kids clinging onto us, dragging us all under! As we resurface there is just enough time to catch a breath before we are hauled under again. It is great fun though and everyone, including the SC team, don't want to get out
It is also really encouraging for us to see the kids becoming more comfortable with us and open up a little more. I can't keep track of how many hugs I've been given or how many times I've been told 'I love you.' Even the boys are now more than happy to give hugs and kisses to us girls.
This evening we also had more talented acting from the SC team! We are incredibly thankful for the willingness of the kids to listen to our teaching and tonight was no different. Our christian teaching session was about the lost sheep.Emma did an excellent job at playing the shepherd and I know it was a bit of a challenge for them, but the way in which the rest of the team portrayed the sheep was very realistic, too realistic at times! Most definitely worth at least an Oscar nomination! Check out the short video clip and decide for yourself.
Quote of the day from Laura: 'It's ok, don't worry, it's just the tap that has fallen off...'
We look forward to whatever tomorrow brings!
