Sunday morning we pack up and leaves the House of Joshua, with just a little persuasion the van starts and we head into Sofia for Church...unfortunately the heating is still not working, despite an industrial size heater, so the service is cancelled. We say farewell to our friends Pastor Rado and the rest of the team from Breakthrough Christian Centre; the New Year promises to bring exciting new opportunities and challenges for the Church as they work together in partnership with the Trussell Trust to start their own Foodbank.

After lunch with Tedy, George and baby Vincent (Tedy is manager of FSCI – our Bulgarian wing, currently on maternity leave) we once again make tracks for the warehouse, which is slowly emptying of Christmas boxes, to load up for Dolna Banya orphanage, an hour's drive South East of the capital.

On arrival we found the children being visited by a group of singers and performers so it was our pleasure to let the children entertain us as they performed dances routines that they had put together themselves.  There are less than 30 children in this place and it has a real family atmosphere, the children were really pleased to receive their presents and once again we spent a lot of time taking photos, shooting film and playing with the children.  The older ones were keen to practice their English on us so we kept Rich away from them – we feared his thick Hampshire accent would only confuse and impede their learning...

We would love to have stayed longer, a yoyo competition was well under way, but we had to get both vans loaded for our big trip the next day.  Thankfully by now most of the snow has melted away and travelling is much easier.  All bodes well for tomorrow.
