Another bright sunny day on the Black sea coast, windy too- and the wind means one thing: waves! For a number of the younger children on this year's SC this can be an unsettling experience because they have never seen the sea before, let alone been battered by waves. For Helena, Maria, Nikki, Kosio and others just coping with the sea has been very exciting and tiring- no wonder they like to have a good nap in the afternoon!

The children are really settling down now and this can be seen in the way that they play on the beach together. After a couple of days of uncertainty the kids are digging their own holes, burying each other and learning how to make great sand castles. Having never had the opportunity to vist the beach outside of SC the children have to be shown how to play these simple games but now they are into the swing of things and they are responding with the typical creativity of children everywhere.

Daniel in the lions den was our story for the day and the kids had  a great time making lion masks and hand puppets. They also had thier first session with Pete Cole and his juggling gear. Some of the children have been practising thier skills since last year and Pete has been very impressed with their dedication and ability. Vasko in particular has worked hard with the flower sticks that Pete gave him in 2009 and can do pretty much everything that Pete can do!

For our re-telling of the story of Daniel the children had to don their masks and do thier best lion roars as Lauren and Becki, as the bad administrators, were thrown into the lion's den at the end of the story.

We also have a new SC shout: when the children hear us say "Summer Camp" they have to respond "Madhouse" at the tops of their voices. This keeps our fellow hotel guests on thier toes and probably the rest of the resort too...
