. I have found people to be very friendly here and many people stop to talk or say hello in the mornings. After spending the morning at the beach we went back to the cottage, had a fantastic breakfast, and then spent the day at Point Lobos. We only saw half the last time we were there. In some ways the views were even more spectacular today. We left Point Lobos just after 7 and came back to the cottage. We planned on going on to dinner. But after a couple glasses of wine and a very adventurous day the idea of cooking in seems to be a better idea at this point. We are truly having the time of our lives. Coming on a vacation like this is a dream. I have to pinch myself that it is real. I am so appreciative to have this opportunity and am enjoying every minute of every day. Truly, this is a dream come true.
Today is Thursday and we have had yet another fantastic day in Carmel. Our morning started out the same as every other... we spent about an hour and half on the beach. I jogged around and Steve walked the side streets taking photos of all the beautiful flowers and houses. Today was the first day that we had a fog set in and experienced a little cooler temperature. However, it was refreshing and I still had a tank top on. While jogging I had a very neat experience. An older gentleman started talking to me as I was running by and after spending a little time talking he and his wife invited me to view their beautiful home (or views I should say!) This home is located right on Scenic Drive and was built just 20 feet above the water. They shared the story of their lives and how his parents built the home back in the 1960's. The couple reminded me of the characters out of THE NOTEBOOK *(the movie). It was really neat spending some time with them and seeing their lovely home and spectacular views
