. That would be typical. And yes, I planned on taking care of this the day prior to my departure.. By Shelby;s funeral took place of that. Needless to say...there was a bit of drama at the airport and to top it off.. I forgot I had a bottle of water in my bag. (a big no no these days). Steve stood by my side as I basically went through the third degree. They were calling our names as a final call when we boarded but we made it nonetheless. Steve could have said a lot.. But he stayed silent. J From that point, things went well and we arrived at Carmel around 1:15 in the afternoon. We are staying in the same place as we did last time.. I love this place! It feels so nice being here. We relaxed, un packed, Steve went to the grocery store while I got ready for the late afternoon and evening. We left our cottage around 4:00 and spent the rest of the day at the beach. Later in the evening we went to downtown Carmel for dinner and had chicken curry. The restaurant was great and we had a nice dinner. The evening is over and we are now relaxing back at our cottage. It's been a good first day and it feels really nice being here.
Our first day in Carmel... it's been three years since we have returned. This is the place that I look at pictures of everyday while I am getting ready to go to work. You know the type of place you dream of going back too.. And hoping that you will be able too... Well this is the place for me. I love Carmel. And the neat thing is... Steve loves Carmel as much as I do. We woke up at 4:00 am to head for Tampa. Neither one of us was especially feeling too happy since Shelby just passed away. The day prior was an awful day of putting Shelby to rest and trying to get ready for a trip. After losing Shelby, there was definitely a feeling that neither of us wanted to even go on vacation. This morning was somber... It felt strange leaving after what just happened with Shelby.. But by 5:00 we were on the road. The airport scene was not exactly great. My driver's license expired in July of this year and I never went down to the DMV to get a new license. Now, I know that is really bad.... But for those of you who know me.
