We are now in Papeete, in Tahiti Nui. We crossed the date line, so we are back in time!
First thing to say about Tahiti: we were welcomed with flowers, and people playing guitar. We felt really welcome! Please BVI: TAKE NOTES!! It made me realise at what point the BVI suck big time, regarding tourism.
We didnīt reserve for a place to stay, so we looked around, and by chance we found a french hostel called Chez Daniel (Chez fifi for real). The owner was a funny guy, and showed us our room, 6 beds total, and separated by other room by a curtain
The following day we left for Moīorea, an island 30 minutes away, far from this big city of Papeete.
We found a cheap camping to stay, in a small bungalow, for like 12$Us each a night, really cheap for the place.
The islands here are surrounded by a reef, so the whole island is a lagoon! The water is really calm, because the waves are breaking like 600 m away! We went swimming with the sting rays, I was freaking out at the beginning. I was thinking about you the while time Steve... Damn rays!!
We went to the lagoonarium, where we swam with turtles, sharks and more rays.
We came back to Papeete after the 4th day, for my birthday! We rented a car, and drove around the island, to visit a few things, like caves, falls and geysers.
At night we went to eat at the īroulottesī, where many Chicken bus meet!
Finally at night we went at the airport at 10h30, to find out that our flight was leaving at 4h15 in the morning. Great! We slept at the airport a little, to jump in the plane, direction Easter Island ( Ile de Paques).
Not much to say about Tahiti, as it looks like the BVI, but hotter!! Terrible, impossible to move even in a bathing suit! People are much nicer thats for sure!
I am now in Easter island, more news later with pics!
