We did a day trip to Daintree Rainforest/ Cape Tribulation with Billy Tea Safaris and had a lovely guide.  We headed down the scenic coastal drive and saw Snapper Island, looks like a crocodile.  We did a walk through rainforest and a short visit to Cape Tribulation.  We had a swim at Immegen Creek, tropical fruit and experienced billy tea, an old way of making tea used during the war.  Soldiers would boil water in a steel bucket called a billy over a fire, throw some tea leaves on top, then swing the bucket around over their heads to force the tea leaves down into the water.  This was traditionally served with damper, a soda bread cake cooked underground.

All of our tours were set up with the help of the guides at our hostel Traveller's Oasis and her sister house Tropic Days.  We had to switch hostels because we changed our plans last minute and decided to extend our stay.  The hostels were very homey and they had really good bbq's and coupons for nearby restaurants.  Cairns itself was a weird town, it was very spread out and commercial, and not as nice as we were expecting.

Pretty cool
I like the pic of Greg with the 'roo...looks like old friends hangin out. So have you guys been doing something new every day, or do you have downtime where you just sit around, go to a bar and watch soccer, or just watch TV for a day?

Re: Pretty cool
yea, we def have down time, Davis just thinks its dumb and boring to write about. We have laundry days and watch movies at the same time, otherwise we would go completely broke real quick. But we would never be bored enough to sit and watch soccer.
