Well I finally arrived after a 12 hour flight and the jetlag is getting the better of me this evening.
Today I visited Shibuya (probably the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world). There is a statue there of a dog called hachicko. The story goes that this dog used to wait outside the station every day until his owner came back from work. When the owner died, the dog still went there every day until he died himself. So they built him a memorial to honour his loyalty. Ahhhh....
I am staying in Khaosan Ninja hostel (I'm not kidding - but it's only Ninja in name). It's clean and seems pretty nice so I'll be ok here for a couple of nights. Just got back from dinner in a cafe where you choose your meal from a vending machine and they bring it to you freshly cooked. I guess it helps overcome the language barrier. I really couldnt tell you what I ate - it was tasty but I couldnt identify anything in it!
Can't upload photos right now as I left my adaptor upstairs (sorry!). Right off to catch up on some zzzz's. Off to Yokohama tomorrow.
