Sipadan Island is widely recognized as a top 10 dive destination worldwide. And for good reason.

The calm, shallow waters surrounding the island drop off vertically 2000' to the abyss below. It's a geological anomaly in its formatioin, and an impressive sight underwater. Many fish that are born in these waters live their entire lives in the same habitat, avoiding larger predatorial fish in the surrounding deeper water. Large pelagic fish species, such as white-tip sharks, grey sharks, whale sharks, and massive schools of barracuda and Jack, turtles, manta rays, along with a plethora of other tropical fish fill these waters teeming with life.

I had my most memorable moment diving. I swam into the middle of a large school of Barracuda, blocking my view of the surrounding Celebes Sea and filling my peripheral vision with moving, glimmering silver. It was incredible.

This is by far the best wall diving I've ever done.
