Mersin, the Summer Homes

Well, we decided to go to Mersin for the weekend because I was bored and didn't want to sit in Adana anymore. I just don't want to sit at home when it's sunny out (I'm like that at home too), but I know that it can be dangerous to go out in that heat. Mersin is where everyone from Adana goes for the summer. They all have summer homes there and it was beautiful. I got to set my sights on the Mediterranean Sea finally, for the first time. And the water is so warm. I couldn't believe it. It was warmer than the pool they had there. It was a beautiful home with a great view. I liked Mersin a lot better than Adana.

Hostility

Mersin is about an hour train ride south of Adana (my first train ride too). The house that we went to was right on the beach. It was very relaxing to go to sleep with the sound of the waves on the beach. I did get a pretty bad sunburn on my back. But not from sitting on the beach. We sat at a café for coffee and the wind was quite deceiving. But I am starting to get some color now.

Pool Side

The pool they had there was big and beautiful. It had a fountain in the middle that they turn on at night. It's a chlorinated salt water pool. They get their water right from the Sea I think. And it was right beside the Sea.

The train ride was nice. I got to see the countryside and how poor some of the areas are here. The cows they have here seem to be fairly skinny too compared to the ones I'm used to seeing in Canada. There are some horses that are used to pull carts around. I have seen some people that do the carriage tours around town. And yes Papa, I have seen goats, and no I haven't eaten any.
