Preparations
Entry 1 of 18 | show all | print this entry |
In preparing for my travels to Turkey, I have put together an online travel blog that will be my online travel diary. I want people to be able to keep in touch with me and find out how my trip is going. This is the best way for me to keep everyone up to date without spending hours sending out various e mails. I plan on leaving in May, so until then, there may not be as much for me to write about. But I will be gone for a couple of months (or more) depending on how things are going for me when I get there. So I will have lots to tell you while I am over there. I will keep you updated with the things I am doing in preparing to go. If you want to receive updates by e mail, you can sign up for that as well. There is lots to explore on this site. And I hope that it will help any one else who is preparing on doing some traveling. The peoples' first hand experience is very helpful in finding out places to go and what to do. It is very informative, no matter where you plan on going. Hearing about someone else's experience really does help.
I have done lots in preparing for my trip. I have sent away for my passport (I finally get stamps in this one!!), I have also updated all my vaccines (hepatitis was all I needed) cause the last thing I want to do is get really sick while I'm away. For those of you who don't know, I've been working at starting my own at-home company doing medical transcription. I wanted to do this so I can work while I am gone. I like that it's not limiting to where I can do it. As long as I have a computer with internet access, I can work. And this works great for me because I'm going to be gone for so long.
I can't really think of anything else I've had to do to prepare. I don't really have to plan what's going to happen when I get there, because I have an inside man there whose going to show me around. I was planning on going to Ireland before I went to Turkey, so I spent a lot of time researching both countries, flights, hostels, sights, etc... I still might go, but I may have to tack in onto the end of the trip. I'm kind of playing everything by ear. There are so many possibilities, that I don't really know what I'm going to do. I hope you all enjoy reading about my trip. I know it's going to be exciting.
Thank you all for you support. I am very excited about this opportunity. I never thought that I would be doing something like this. It is all going to happen so fast. I don't have much time left before I go. Time goes by so fast lately.
