Day 1
Arrived on the ferry from Naples, which was considerably more than our 2008 LP quoted it to be, considering LP quoted the high season and we are in the low season!
It was a lovely ferry ride, however. As we approached Ischia, we could see the castle perched on top of the hill and the little pastel coloured houses, gorgeous :)
Got off the boat and walked to our hotel, which was about a 12 minute walk. On the way it was roasting hot, and our backpacks were heavy, so we stopped at a little beachside pizzeria for some pizzas!!
The first day we just relaxed and layed around on the sunlounges at our hotel, and that night we caught the free shuttle to the owners' restaurant. Fantastic food but the restaurant doesn't have a lot of ambience unfortunately.
Day 2
Today we woke up late and wandered down to the town to check out the shops. We walked along the beach, and didn't do a whole lot! We sunbathed, and ate at the beachside pizza place.
At night we went to the owners' restaurant.
Day 3
Today was my birthday! I woke up and had Happy Birthday sung to me, which was lovely!! We had a leisurely breakfast, then hit the beach and ordered some sunlounges to lie on for the whole day! Did some sunbathing, and then wandered into the town centre and I called my family back home. We then bought some little cakes for later, and had lunch at the usual beachside pizzeria place we like.
It suddenly became overcast so we went home and we ate cakes in the room and got ready for dinner.
Day 4
For our last day we decided to head to Negombo Thermal Park.
http://www.negombo.it/negombo-terme.html
Ischia is a volcanic island and therefore 100s of thermal spa places are situated on the island. Negombo is considered to be one of the best, so we decided to splurge and go there for our last day. It is a huge park of manicured gardens, tropical plants, and many, many different pools filled with different temperatures of thermal water!
We went in all of them, dipping from one pool to another, them to a jet-filled spa, then to the swimming pool, then to the thermal showers, and back again! We were there for the whole day and it was fantastic. We had lunch there, which was pretty average, but was in the most beautiful of surroundings, as the restaurant was on the beach.
Afterwards we went back to the hotel and had showers to get the salt off our bodies.
For dinner tonight we took the lazy option and went for dinner again to the owners' restaurant.
Our day trip to Negombo (in the next town) was the furthest we ventured during our whole stay on the island and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way! We absolutely loved Forio and want to go back!

Forio town by night
We went to a place recommended by LP. It said 'Hearty meals starting at €15'. We got there, and their ENTREES STARTED at €26!!! For the vegetarian ones!! Obviously the writer never actually bothered to go inside and have a meal, let alone look at the menu. But we ate there anyway, and it was ok, but 'hearty' would be the last word I would use to describe 5 pieces of ravioli for a main meal.Day 4
