This has been a hard decision to make.  Could I leave my family and friends (and strangely enough, my much loved job?) behind for 8 months whilst I try to get this travel-bug out of my system?  Or just take many smaller trips over several years to make up for what I would have seen in those 8 months?

I decided to just take the big step and go travelling for 8 months.  I had been thinking about it since my first trip to Europe in 2005. This way, I will cross off a great many things on my to-do list that way, and get to experience volunteering with animals, living in London, and making regular trips to Ireland to see my family a lot more.

I'm so looking forward to this new and exciting part of my life, and all of the challenges, frustrations and joys that come along with it.  I've made this TravelPod so my family and friends can keep updated with what I'm seeing and doing in each place I visit, so you feel like you're experiencing my travels too :D
