I cannot believe I have reached the south seas! The coastal path is full of little treasures! Like little grottos and secluded coves which look absolutely idealic on a warm sunny day, such as yesterday. I also enjoyed a lovely evening and morning as I was camping at Talland Bay, in the sunshine, just southwest of Looe. The sort of location that was perfect, except for being on my own, I missed Ben, Padi and Paris! The very next day, a lost border collie, boy about a year old, came across my path. He quite happily followed me. He was very obedient and well trained, I'm sure he was missed by someone. He stayed with me Wednesday night, and I set about locating his owners the next day. Thankfully the story ends well (although I would have loved to have kept him!) as I found the very relieved owners, who were holidaying in the area. Just shows you, even the most obedient dogs can stray, and how important it is to make sure they are wearing their collar and tags with phone numbers on, I could have returned him to his owners the night before.   As I've said, I am on my last 100 miles. I should reach Lands End by Sunday 19th October. Radio Wiltshire will speak to me on that day, so listen out. Also the Weekly News is covering the story, will be on the newsagent shelves the day before. But before then I have to continue walking! Friday I shall continue the coastal path from Par to Lower Porthpean, then head inland through Shepherds Hill Wood and then lanes to Sticker. Saturday I shall walk lanes from Sticker to Ladock. Sunday from Ladock I take more lanes to Trispen, and then south through St Clement Woods leading to Idless. Monday there is more road walking through Truro and then lanes to Frogpool, where I am looking forward to meeting Bernadette Warren, the sister of someone I met earlier on this walk! Will tell you more on my next blog!!

'Bert' the lost border collie
Hi Trish

Thought I'd drop you a line on you're blog regarding the lost border collie you came across on Wednesday.

'Bert' is his name and many frantic hours were spent searching for him after he decided to wander off whilst we were fishing. I'm extremley grateful that he came across you on his travels and that you took him in for the night, cared for him and searched for his owners the following day.
I will be posting a message to you on your website with a donation for your worthy cause!

Many thanks and good wishes for the final few miles of you're epic journey.

PS we won't be removing his collar to dry out ever again, especially in Cornwall
