I am now walking the Yorkshire Dales. Friday I struggled with the heat, only completing 7 1/2 miles. Saturday I did better, 12 miles, helped by the fact that at the end of the days walk was the Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in Great Britain. I have also been helped by meeting such nice people, some donating and others giving words of support. To those I met today, Sunday, yes I did make it to Hawes, all 18 miles (shouldn't have listened to Tony who thought it was only 10)! It was either that or camping on the moors with the sheep! Did you make Tan Hill, and did you see those big nasty waspy flies and hornets by those seats on the top of Great Shunner Fell? I didn't sit there for long! If anybody travels this way I would highly recommend visiting Thwaite. A nice little village and there is a restaurant there. As there was seating outside, I asked if they could just do me a sandwich, and look what I got!
my sandwich!
