Now following the Pennine Way through Cumbria. I had Ben's company last Sunday, walking the South Tynedale Railway path.
Ben walking the South Tynedale Railway path
That was a nice easy walk, other parts of the Pennine Way are either boggy or rocky, especially when you lose the path and you go up instead of down! I had to go down eventually, the unconventional way, a rocky landslide! I live to tell the tale! Thankfully there was a nice camping spot at the bottom. Done some serious hill walking, reached 2,953 ft on Monday on the moors heading towards Dufton from the spookily quiet village of Garrigill,
river walk towards Garrigill
where we were able to camp behind the village hall for a small donation. Have now reached Middleton-in-Teesdale and am now going to treat myself to some fish and chips. :)Alston the start of the 3 mile rail journey

Somwtimes a nice path!

Fab photos, just make sure you go the right way and avoid any more rock sliding! Take care!
