I took the train straight up to Munich, stayed for a couple nights, then went to Fussen where the famous Neuschwanstein castle is, then to the low key ski resort of Oberstdorf on the southern border, then to Lindau on Lake Constance (or Bodensee as they call it). The first thing I saw when I got to germany was a bakery in the train station FULL of giant pretzels. They weren't hot, but they were delicious and I didn't go one day without one. They even had pretzels the size of a pizza. There were no big pretzels in austria, so I see this as a definite bavarian highlight.
Munich was very pretty and full of bike riders and pretty buildings, seems like an easy place to live
Anyway, most of my time in germany was spent relaxing, alot of hiking, and some really long bike rides along lakes....here are some of the things I saw:
- A hippy guy in oberstdorf walking his goats, really nice looking goats, on a bike path
-people dressing up in felt hats with feathers to go hiking
-lots of old people doing "nordic walking" which is basically just walking with sticks, so lame.
-guys standing on tables and singing in a beer garden
-lots of beer drinking
-super nice fluffy duvets on the beds with big fluffy pillows
-millions of american college students at the castle in fussen all wearing Rainbow sandals
-cows creating a super racket with those bells they wear, does it bug them?
