After Bilbao, I stopped in San Sebastian for a couple nights, another pretty seaside town. It became an exclusive beach spot after the queen was advised to swim there in the summer way back then, so then the rich people followed. They are famous for their food, "pintchos", which is what they call tapas. Everyday you can see loads of people in the early evening at the bars in the narrow alleys with a glass and a plate of pintchos. old people, parents with kids, seems like everyone is welcome everywhere. It was nice to see.
Like I said, it was raining the whole time, so I set out like a brave soldier and saw all the cool Gaudi buildings. Very interesting, very organic and storybook like. But there were other buildings that were quite beautiful too in the city. It was nice just walking around, looking in the shop windows (lots of shops with big legs of ham and giant cheeses) Oh, and it was spring break in France, so everywhere I went there were HORDES of french teenagers.
I also went to Montserrat, a monestary outside the city. I was working on a project at work named after this place, so it was funny to be there...After a day on the mountain, I came back to the city and met up with Laura, the same girl that was on my India trip. When I saw her in London she said she would be here for work, so it just randomly worked out that I was here too. We went out and about and had a really nice time. Who knows where I will see her next?!
