I had a quick stop in Nairobi to say goodbye to Kevin and to
Africa! Then a long overnight flight through Dubai to
London. My real aim is to get to Portugal, but the cheapest way
out of east africa seems to be to go to london. Lucky for me, I
was met by the hospitality of Ian Lamb and his lovely fiance
Helen. Ian is basically my cousin's cousin's cousin...He is from
Widness, my grandmother is from Widness, and all the in between part is
complicated..even with that murky relationship he opened his door wide
to me in Weybridge and I had a wonderful time!
I was also lucky enough to meet up with Phil and Laura whom I met on
the India trip. Phil took me all around on Saturday, Henley,
Windsor...Ian and Helen took me to Hampton Court and Richmond on
Sunday...then I went into London on Monday with Phil and we met up with
Laura in Covent Garden for modern british food (it snowed!), then on
tuesday I met up with Ruth, whom I met in ethiopia, for lunch, the
national portrait gallery, and tea at Fortnam's (it snowed when we were
in there too!) and lots of walking around in the freezing wind.
What a great time!
