Having arrived in one piece, albeit waterlogged, I was happy to have finally made it to the mainland of Africa and to see Lisa and Ulrik, whom I hadn't seen for 17? years!!!! We were in Mauritania together and they have been living all over Africa since then.  They just bought this lodge and were busy with some huge projects to get it back in shape from neglect by the previous owner.  So it was fun just to hang out, watch the progress on the place, eat the great food in their restaurant, catch up and even sightsee a little.  Lisa took me out on a boat trip on the Pangani river, very relaxing and even saw a crocodile. We went to visit the Tides, a beach hotel on the other side of the river for a few drinks and lunch.  We had some nice walks on the beach with the dogs, and even managed to survive no showers all in an effort to get the pool filled!  Too bad I left before it was done.  I really admire them for taking the plunge and buying this place.  It is alot of work, alot of people and projects to manage, especially when communication can be tricky.  Luckily they are used it from living in Africa so long, but it still can be frustrating.  Anyway, I loved seeing them, their staff was great and their place is going to be beautiful...Asante sana!!!!
