I was only here for a night to change planes, but I thought it deserved an entry because it was like coming back to the 21st century after being in the 16th century for months.  Flying in and seeing housing developments, no taxi guys harrassing me at the airport, real landscaping (not just half eaten tree sticks with a three foot fence around it). Not that I love ugly development, it is just funny to see it again in Africa.  I thought, I am going to hide myself away in the posh airport hotel, watch music videos on a huge cushy bed and eat a hamburger before I dive back into the fray.  And that is exactly what I did!

The Other Shoe Floats
heya Leslie - we've been following your trip - it sounds great! We've been showing the kids your route on the globe, and they often ask about you. And we're glad you found your shoe. I wonder where it went, off to sea by itself, and if it has its own blog.

Pleae keep up the writing and photos - we're enjoying all of it.
