So sad, had to leave the group and go back to travelling solo!  I really loved the group I was with and feel so lucky to have met them all.
Got a flight to Mumbai and proceeded to Colaba, the old neighborhood in South Mumbai.  The greatest thing here are the wide sidewalks that you can just stroll along and look at the giant trees, cool old buildings,  random sugar cane juice guys, or copy machine places right on the street.  The only negative thing was the internet cafes...all located in the tiniest of rooms.  You walk in at street level, then you go up the narrowest spiral staircase you can imagine into a room the size of a walk in closet full of about15 computers, and chairs, no windows, and people....and it is super stuffy!  Luckily, I didn't need to spend too much time in there.  walking along the promenade along the Arabian sea was really great.
I got a chance to visit Kush Parekh, a guy that I worked with in San Clemente.  It was great seeing him, and he was nice enough to show me around, and even stay up with me to take me to the airport at midnight for my 3 am flight to madagascar. Thanks Kush!!!
On my last day I decided to go to the post office to send some stuff home, which has become my habit on the last day anywhere. What an experience.  Upstairs in an ancient building, I handed over my stuff to a guy to pack, he sews it in canvas and then a guy seals it with wax on the corners.  There is a room piled with these parcels going all over the world...will they all make it?  Then actually getting the postage on it was another ordeal...I was there for hours...then I walked outside and got dive bombed by bird poo...Ooooh I was mad and frustrated...so I took myself to the Taj palace hotel on the sea, got myself a window seat and had a wonderful and luxurious high tea.  That did the trick and I left India on a high note.
I had such a great time there...it is still sinking in and I am sure I will have more insights to my experiences there as I get more perspective and distance.  Great people, wonderful sights and sounds, good food...my head is buzzing from it.
