The journey from Airlie Beach to Hervey Bay would take over 10 hours on a bus so it was decided to include Rockhampton as a stopover.
We arrived into town in the evening, grabbed a bite to eat at a Jacket Potato shop, had a drink in the bar below the hostel before going to bed.
The next morning our bus was at 6:45am however when we arrived we were told it was 3 hours delayed. This meant we had to sit and wait for the duration. We varied the waiting time by sitting in McDonalds for awhile instead of the bus depot but time passed very slow. At least we were the ones stuck on the bus in the middle of the night!
Eventually the bus turned up and off we went to Hervey Bay.
