Hi everyone. I (Vanessa) am writing the blog tonight because it has been a very strange day.
First things first, we woke up this morning after sleeping through noise from a very busy route 80, an airport just down the street, Railroad tracks right next to the campground(train horns and all), huge diesel engine trucks and buses and rvs and such driving up and down the gravel roads in the campground. Brian couldn't sleep because, we were in the middle of a thunder storm, we're talking rain and hail and thunder and wind, the truck and camper were rocking so bad he got motion sickness.  I had no idea all these things were happening because I was passed out, until....I woke up sure that the ceiling of the camper had fallen on us.  No it didn't it's just low, really low, but it's always really low.
So today we drove from Elko, Nevada to Reno, Nevada.  We drove straight through about a 5 hour drive of......well nothing.  It was by far the most boring day we have had of driving yet.  It was beautiful, but there was nothing.  The exits led to 1 ranch. It was boring! The weather today was way better than it has been, we had a few sprinkles but nothing to worry about.  We heard that Nevada has already broken the record for June Rainfall.
Now, we are in Reno, Nevada.  Brian really wanted to see Reno so we're here.  And here is strange.  We are camping in what was advertised in our AAA book as a campground, but it is, in fact a trailer park.  the term trailer used loosely here, they are RVs turned into permanent homes.  We set up camp and called a taxi to take us down town, and prayed the truck and camper would be there when we got back.
Downtown Reno the sign says "Biggest Little City in the World" , perhaps "Strangest Little City in the World" would be more accurate.  Brian and I walked from casino to casino inside because didn't want to walk on the street.  I splurged and spent $40 on the slots and lost it all, Brian won $10. We had dinner at a Vietnamese Noodle place, it was delish and super cheap.  Now we're about to crash for the night. That is, after Brian picks up all of the tool box he just dumped on the floor.  We are not doing very well at keeping up with these time changes, and are early to bed most nights.  Tomorrow we should meet up with the Pacific Ocean and I am so excited for that, and Brian can't wait to see the Redwoods.
Good Night all.
