Flag of Costa Rica  , Province of Alajuela,
Thursday, May 2, 2013

Two Weeks had passed, and so we were on our last leg of the Trip. This meant driving from Manuel Antonio to San Jose and continue on to Alaujela. You will find there are several Toll Boots when you are doing this drive. Be sure to have some Costa Rican Coins at hand.

We settled for our last days at Villa Pacande, which is on the outskirts of Alajuela. This was fine since having a vehicle made getting around very easy. Our intentions was to visit POAS Volcano and our last day, see San Jose...and shop for souvenirs.

We drove up to POAS, which is about a 30min Drive up hill. The scenery was quite beautiful....as you know most views from high above can be specktacular. POAS was well maintained, with tiled trails. It was actually very lovely in my view and I am glad that I took the opportunity to go.

There were quite a number of visitors but warned, if you do decide to take the trail to the lagoon, be prepared for so serious downhill trekking. I think if you are not wearing proper shoes, it can be a bit dangerous.

I enjoyed the way the trees created dark tunnels, that sunlight barely seeped through. I absolutely felt like I was in the scenery of a creepy movie. The lagoon is a Dormant volcano crater that is now filled by rain water, but ofcourse nothing can live in it because of the PH level.

The temperature dropped to around 12-18 degrees and it got very foggy. Driving back was very sketchy as you could hardly see the road, the fog was so thick.

I would say, it was quite a enjoyable experience.
