Woo hoo! I'm here. I managed to sleep a whopping 11 hours in total on the flight so feeling pretty good. I hesitantly asked if they had sparkling wine, only to be told that they have 3 cases Lindauer Special Reserve so I better drink up!
The bad news is that I arrived to total downpour. So all our outdoor plans had to be postponed. As soon as I arrived we headed to Tane's family home in South Central where I met endless siblings and cousins ans children, lots of children. They were very warm and welcoming and after a few hours I was being attacked by four-year-olds and feeling quite at home. This evening we're taking a drive about town to look at the harbour and lights. I'm boring Tane by telling him very frequently how much Auckland is like Vancouver. (Lucy! come visit you'd feel right at home)
