Left Florence after a good nights rest at a really quiet hotel. We drove on through to Memphis and Graceland and joined the huge crowd of sightseers to look through the home of Elvis Presley. The tour was very well done and we took quite some time to see all the features.

We looked at various other displays before heading off for the city and to see the mighty Mississippi River which was flowing very fast as a result of the heavy rain further upstream.

The city is built right along the bank with the state of Arkansas across the the other side. Got some photos and then took a drive through the city, stopping for a look at the place where Martin Luther King was shot. Such a dismal old motel and quite a spooky place.

From there we set out south-east for Florida along US-78, marvelling at the fantastic highways that criss cross the USA. We made good time stopping for rest breaks and some fuel (about US$3.75 per gallon) and reaching Tupelo at around 7pm where we decided to stop for the night.
Just north of Tupelo we saw the huge site works for a new Toyota car plant being built. It was a massive development and ill bring thousands of jobs into the city.
